Since its opening, the hotel has become known for its chic parties that only the French know how, and “La Nuit by Sofitel” was no different. The brand’s signature party concept has been held in Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal, Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom, Sofitel Marrakesh Lounge & Spa, Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge and Sofitel Dubai Downtown, but this is the first time it has been showcased in Sofitel Hotels and Resorts in Southeast Asia.
Hosting the glamorous event was William Haandrikman, general manager of the hotel. The genial host was on hand to welcome 500 VIP guests in the foyer area of Le Grand Ballroom on the seventh floor, where they were treated to creative cocktails. Guests were then escorted by the two elegant models wearing luxurious costumes of white roses and white orchid garlands through a black tunnel entrance decorated with white LED lights. Inside, they found Le Grand Ballroom transformed into a Paris-inspired venue, complete with elegant French decor and a three-metre-high colourful macaron Eiffel Tower.
Guests came duly dressed in white according to the dress code, and enjoyed a photo shoot in front of the special backdrop before engaging in lively conversion and dancing. Gourmet cuisine was served from six food stations which included Charcuterie and Fromagerie, Foie Gras, Thai Delights, Les Crepe, and Patisserie — to complement Veuve Clicquot Champagne, fine wines and creative cocktails from the two cool bars, including a stylish world class bar by Diageo Moet Hennessy (Thailand) and a luxurious bar by Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit.
Acting as master of ceremonies was Sawitri Rochanapruk. In his welcome speech, Mr Haandrikman said that the four pillars of the Sofitel brand — design, gastronomy, culture and well-being — were represented for guests to experience that night.
The celebration also showcased live performances that reflected the components of La Nuit by Sofitel concept. Performances included an incredible magnificent grand opening LED Dance show, a mini concert by famous singer, Burin Boonvisut and his band, as well as a top DJ Kenny Keng. Guests also witnessed a champagne popping ceremony with the executive committee team of the hotel, followed by interviews with five Thai celebrities.
The highlight of the evening was a lucky draw with two fabulous prizes for the two lucky winners. They received a five-night trip for them with their partners to Paris via Cairo on EgyptAir’s business class, with accommodation at the Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah in Cairo, as well as the Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe or the Hotel Scribe Paris Opera by Sofitel in Paris.
The prizes were presented by Haandrikman and Fouad Abdelhady, Bangkok station manager of EgyptAir to the two lucky winners, Chaniprapa Manasuta and Runcha Boribalburibhand.
