By far, summer is the happiest season, according to Japanese cosmetics brand Three, as people tend to take a vacation and get away from it all. The joyful summer sentiment inspired the latest make-up collection, Let the Happiness In, launched recently at Siam Paragon.
“Even urban women can take a break from busy life to let the happiness in. Putting on make-up is one way to make them happy,” said Three’s communication manager Chuyot Poonsombutlert.
Based on the liquid reflection and metallic concept, the summer 2016 look emphasises shimmery eyelids evoking the reflection of sunlight on the sea surface.
“Imparting a harmony of hues, make-up is about creating a balance. The subtle, yet sultry eyes are balanced with bright-coloured lips,” he noted.
Referring to the third alternative, Three differs from other beauty brands in the use of botanical oils even for formulating premium make-up products.
Eyeshadows, for instance, feature skin-nourishing tea seed, argan kernal, jojoba, evening primrose and rosehip oils.
The 4D-Plus Eye Palette combines four shades in different textures that can be easily layered to achieve alluring or glossy eyes.
“The play on texture extends to the Cheeky Chic Blush, formulated like a foundation powder. Hence, the blush seamlessly blends in while creating sexy Sun-kissed cheeks,” he explained.
Providing a velvet texture, the lipstick can be layered twice on the middle of the lips then spread to the edges with a brush — the intense colour on the mid-lips producing a magnetic pout.
The Japanese brand also claims of bottling botanical oils in its nail polishes, which are free from harmful chemicals (toluene, formalin and dibutyl phthalate).
“Instead of a paint-like coating, the formulation uses a technology similar to making contact lens that lets nails ‘breathe’ while dressing them in metallic hues. In addition, a limited edition top coat leaves a matte finish for summer’s standout fingers and toes,” he said.
