But when you have a master in the field talk about the subject, you know it’s more interesting than ever. On Feb 15, you are invited to attend an exclusive talk with David Damrosch, chair of Department of Comparative Literature and director of Institute for World Literature, Harvard University. Damrosch is the author of famous books, including What Is World Literature? (2003) and How To Read World Literature (2008). David Damrosch’s Public Lecture World Literature, National Markets is being held at Maha Chulalongkorn (Room 105) at Chulalongkorn University. Free admission.

3 Today, one of the most important sporting events of the year is taking place. The 71st CU-TU Traditional Football Match, the showdown between the country’s most prestigious universities Chulalongkorn University and Thammasat University, will see the biggest gathering of students cheering and bringing the house down at Supachalasai National Stadium from 1pm. The Thai college version of the Super Bowl comes with dance shows, cheerleaders, drum majors and much more. The most anticipated highlights of the event, however, are likely to be the card stunts and parades, which are the students’ message targeted at current politics.
4 It’s a flea market once again. But what’s unique about NITADExFEST 2016: Picnic is that it’s completely manned by students of the Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University. Therefore, from a hodgepodge of second-hand goods to an array of scrumptious food and desserts sold at the event, you know that what you will be buying is more or less the work of students, which makes it charming. The event features more than 80 shops, mini concerts from Violette Wautier and Scrubb, films directed by alums, as well as an exhibition showcasing what the students are up to. The event is being held at the Faculty of Communication Arts on Feb 18-19 from 4pm.
5 With famous hashtags #instafood and #foodporn leading Instagram users to a trove of more than 130 million food photos combined, things are a little too overwhelming even though you always gain vicarious pleasure from stalking strangers to see what they eat. Therefore, instead of clicking through one hashtag after another in the endless search for food inspiration, why don’t you try to follow the accounts of real chefs to see the food world from their point of view? Huffington Post’s Huffpost Taste recently carried a list of 15 chefs to follow on Intagram. Some big names on the list include Chef Sangyoon of gastropub Father’s Office in Santa Monica and René Redzepi of Noma in Copenhagen.
