Take note book shoppers, it’s time to check out Think Space B2S, a massive, newly-opened book store at CentralFestival EastVille. The location may be somewhat remote from the city centre — on Pradit Manutham Road — but the 3,000m² store is packed with bookish stuff to ensure that you might discover something that sparks your inspiration.
The shop has been specially designed and not only is the biggest bookstore in the country, but also in Southeast Asia.
Dubbed a lifestyle bookstore, the shop has a wide layout with curvy shelves and offers a huge selection of books and lifestyle products. What makes it stand out is the idea that this is more of a library than a bookstore, so people can sit and read books, not necessarily purchase them.
“People can come in and spend all day here. They can browse books, meet new people and explore ideas,” said Somchai Tawonrungroaj, MD of B2S.
The store is divided into five zones. Lifestyle Book Space features more than 100,000 books in both Thai and English; Art x Idea Space features work by local artists, as well as design products; Entertainment Space is an area for music and films; Play x Learn Space helps kids boost their learning and creativity; and Networking Space is an area for anyone to meet up, share and develop their ideas.
The shop has two-and-a-half floors and comes with impressive architecture. The peaceful atmosphere is derived from the texture of natural wood and plants. Think Space also embraces natural light where possible.
It’s highly possible that this grand store will impress people on first sight. But whether or not it will offer the experiences and inspiration it’s supposed to, you will have to find out yourself.
