LONGINES LED by Vanchuen Thongjen, brand manager of Swatch Group Trading (Thailand), recently organised a high-tea reception to launch the new Longines DolceVita collection. Billed as a tribute to women who have made charm a way of life, the new timepieces combine geometric lines with soft curves and an elongated rectangular case.
“Inspired by the Italian sweet life, the first DolceVita collection was launched 15 years ago and met with widespread global success, with 1.5 million units watches sold. Because it is one of the best-selling collections of Longines, the watchmaker has decided to offer a new interpretation of this collection in tribute to the Longines women,” Vanchuen explained.
“Some models are enhanced with diamonds to magnify the contemporary elegance and femininity of these new pieces and reflect the personality of the wearers.”
Vanchuen then handed over the stage to socialite and Longines fan Apinara Srikarnchana.
“I define a charming woman as a woman who can find happiness from a sweet and simple life by being positive and enjoying every moment. Elegance is not only the look from outside but also what you feel inside. What we wear reflects who we are. We have to be confident and be ourselves. When I am going to an event, I will dress according to the theme of the event.
“The accessories are also important and my favourite accessory is the watch. Longines DolceVita is the style that suits me the most. The case and dial come with feminine designs that represent modern elegance. Longines DolceVita is the watch for women with a joyful, carefree attitude,” Apinara told guests who included Duangkamol Vephula Waagensen, Kornkanok Yongsakul, Panidhi Snidvongs Na Ayudhya, Munchumart Numbenjapol, Nakwan Rayananonda, Ngamkae Amatyakul, Yada Roongwatanapak, Dr Kanokwan Sesthapongvanich, Elizabeth Wongwasin, Nasha Jungkabkul, Siraprapha Skulratana, Pitcha Thanalongkorn, Chanapa Triratanachat, Shasha Bhakpaiboon, Sopin Rongrat, Nattanuch Wongpuapan, Lalita Chockviboonsuk and Rudiampai Kounsongtham
Cased in steel and sometimes decorated with diamonds, the collection boasts a silver-coloured flinque dial adorned with painted Roman numerals as well as a black lacquered or white mother-of-pearl dial with diamonds. Slender rhodium-plated or blued-steel hands point to the passing hours and minutes. With their quartz movement, the timepieces are finished by a choice of black, white, grey or red leather straps or by a stainless steel bracelet.
Singer Popetorn “Two” Soonthornyanakij, added sweetness to the tea with a short concert.
