When new-generation developer NYE Estate was looking for a new office space, the managing director Sutee Limpanachaipornkul knew that the interiors had to reflect their way of thinking. Though not a huge workspace, the inviting 500m² headquarters accommodates 30 forward-thinking employees who enjoy the open-concept office, which encourages synergy and collaboration. As a result of the productive workforce, the three-year-old real estate development company is breaking new ground in the market with a plethora of notable urban projects.

Tell us about the new space of NYE Estate
We moved to this new space at the end of last year. The first thing is to have a workspace that reflects our culture as a groundbreaking developer who fosters teamwork and creativity. So we broke down traditional conservative office norms by tearing down cubicles and opening up for synergy among departments.
How do environments contribute to work mood?
When we set up the company, we worked in a small office space that looked more like a law firm. Now, this workplace allows the staff to hang out and enjoy the facilities as most of the space is dedicated to communal area. They can have a casual meeting in the canteen, or relax in the outdoor garden and recreational area. According to my colleagues, they feel happy. Their quality of life at work is better.
What’s your typical work day like?
Our office hours start at 9am but I normally come in early to sign off papers and have a morning chat with department heads. Then, I’m always in a meeting for the rest of the day.
What you never miss to do in a day?
To check my calendar. Sometimes new appointments add in during the day. For me, it’s important to prepare for each meeting.
Describe your home
Now I live in a condo on Rama IV. It’s a mix of modern contemporary design. My home is, however, in a resort style because my wife loves to have big green spaces and a fish pond.

Sutee’s office is the epitome of a paperless workspace with only bare necessities on his desk, while the green outdoor patio gives a relaxing natural break for the MD’s eyes.

There are inspirational quotes around NYE Estate office. This quote by the reception counter is Sutee’s favourite.

The glass-walled conference room in the heart of the office is where Sutee spends most of his working hours. ‘I prefer this meeting room to a traditional walled-in one because it feels lively and allows more interaction.’

Aside from badminton and running, table tennis is one of the recreational activities NYE Estate co-workers enjoy together. All members of staff also need to join the company’s monthly knowledge-sharing sessions.

In the morning, Sutee usually comes to the cafeteria to say hi to the staff. ‘Besides work, we discuss sports a lot,’ said a colleague.
